What's goin' on here?

after i was graciously asked by Wizard Oil Productions to play the piano during their recent premiere of Craig McNulty's "Welcome Home Steve," i quickly needed to address the problem of the one day during the performance run on which i simply could not be present. because i'm never really one to overcompensate, i figured, "hey, why not make an entire EP in about as much time as it takes to make microwave popcorn?" and i did.

I blue myself.when i finished the record, one of the first things people started telling me was, "dude, you know there's a Foo Fighters album called 'the colour and the shape,' right?" and immediately its memory came flying back to me head but the truth is that fact did not occur to me once until, like i said, it was done. but hey, at least i didn't name it "dark side of the broom," or "frabbey road."

the album was recorded in a frantic period at the end of november and the beginning of december in 2006. i lay it on thick with the piano and vocals. it features the bass stylings of Frans Mernick. Jeff Sontag (who is also my brother) rips it up sick on the guitar. drummer Steve Kupillas and I share the production credit.

all that aside, i invite you to sample from the EP (using the clips i chopped up for you on the left) until i establish an infrastructure by which people can obtain their own copies (with more than thirty secnd clips) using the magic of the internets.

in the meanwhile, you can always e-mail me with your request and i will attend to it with the personal touch you've come to expect from a struggling musician who's handling all these transactions by himself over e-mail.
